Project Safe Jacques Eye Sight

Senekal Health Fund was founded in November 2020 and it is situated in the lovely Loskop Valley town of Groblersdal in the Limpopo Province in South Africa.

Our aim is to raise the amount of R179328.36 as per quotations to assist Jacques to regain his eye sight after he lost 94% sight in his left eye and 99% in his right eye due to diabetis.

Jacques received his 1st eye operation in the left eye in May 2021 were they left some silicon oil behind to assist with the heeling process of the retina that has to be removed now after a waitng period of 1 year with a 2nd eye procedure to the value of R78855.70 in order for him to see with the eye.

He met with the Opthomologist for a follow up appointment on the 15th February 2022 were it was decided for him to come back for another apointment that is sheduled for the 3rd May 2022. Then they will shedule dates not only for the 2nd operation of the left eye to take out the silicon oil but also to commence with the 1st of 2 eye operations of the Right eye to the amount of R100472.99 bringing it to a total of R179328.36 (a target that has not been reached yet) that has to be raised and paid by us to the Pretoria Eye Institude before these eye procedures can take place.

WE ARE NOW OPEN FOR DONATIONS TO SAFE JACQUES RIGHT EYE THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE URGENTLY.

Today we are having good news and less good news.

The good news is:

Through the Grace of God Jacques has now got improved sight back in his left eye. We would also like to thank all of our loyal supporters for your prayers and the support during various of our fundraising projects. We want to especialy thank dr Jan Niemand and his team of the Pretoria Eye Institute who went the extra mile and stood by us with a number of operations and never gave up on Jacques until he had increased sight back in his left eye.

That brings us to the less good news;

Jacques has in the meantime developed glucoma in the right eye that now needs urgent medical attention to safe the eye. Dr Jan Niemand and his team ones again decided to come abort and assist Jacques with the neccisary medical procedures that is needed. Due to a lack of funds of the project he decided to do it at reduced prices for us. They also prepaired the attached explination and quotation for the medical procedures needed.

Fundraising:

The urgency of this procedures that has to be done and the lack of funding ones again made us to ask all our loyal supporters like yourselfs to please get involved with this project and to assist us in raising these funds for Jacques to better his life.

Senekal Health Fund was founded in November 2020 with the aim to raise funds for Jacques Senekal to regain his eye sight after he lost 94% sight in his left eye and 99% in his right eye that was caused by Diabetic Retinopathy.

Jacques Senekal became a insulin dippended diabetic at the age of 16 and at the age of 37 he was diagnosed with heart, lung and kidney failure but through the GRAISE OF GOD he survived. It was discovered that he had fluid on bouth lungs that was removed and he is now receiving treatment and is on chronic medication for the heart lungs and kidneys. During this condition and a number of heart attacks he also developed diabetic retinopathy and became blind in both eyes.

He is a Graphic designer and Web Developer that has to rely on his eyes to be able to work for an income which he lost as well.

Meaningful Meaning he can also not afford a medical aid to carry the cost of a number of surgical procedures in bouth eyes to regain his sight. The goverment hospitals is also not equipped to perform these procedures he is in need of, and it has to be done privately at Pretoria Eye Institude. We managed to gather enough money for the 1st operation and the Opthomologist decided to start of with the 1st of 2 operations on the left eye first in Mei 2021 but they had to leave silicon oil behind to help with the healing process of the Retina for a period of 9 months. Whereafter they have to perform a 2nd operation now at a cost of R78855.70 to remove the oil and then only they will be able to do the nessisary tests to determain the persentsage of sight he regained.

He has an very important appointment sheduled for the 3rd of May 2022 when the Opthomologist will decide on a date for the left eye operation to take place in order for them to remove the silicon oil an then only Jacques will be able to see from this eye.

They will also determain a date as to when the 1st operation will take place of the right eye at a cost of R100472.99 bringing it to a total of R179328.36

We are fully aware of the economical impact that the Covid 19 epidemic left us all on worldwide. Therefore we had to adapt our fundraising strategy to one of SMALLER more AFFORDABLE DONATIONS by LARGER AMOUNTS of INDIVIDUAL'S instead of larger amounts of donations by smaller amounts of individuals to be able to reach our much needed goal.

Jacques next apointment at Pretoria Eye Institude with the Opthomologist is on the 3rd May 2022. They will then decide on a date when the 2nd eye procedure to take out the silicon oil of the Left eye to the amount of R78855.70 will take place.

A decision as to when the 1st eye procedure of the Right eye to the amount of R80000.00 will take place.

This will be bringing our Fundraising Initiative to a total of R179308.36 up to now we were able to raise a Total of R10000.00 with an outstanding Total of R169328.36.
